We omitted to share our response to Ofcom’s consultation on protecting prices for BT’s landline only customers, but now do so.
In short we said BT’s commitments cannot be relied upon and that they need to be more explicit to protect vulnerable, often elderly, users who rely on phone lines simply for voice services.
We’re therefore pleased to see in the statement Ofcom have published that it appears to have contributed to BT having to be more explicit. Well, Ofcom said we were wrong but in the next-but-one paragraph (3.9) appeared to have our concern specifically addressed by BT anyway. 🙂
We’ll chalk that up as a win for the old people.
